2012 will be the warmest year on record in Missouri since 1895, when established instrumental temperature records began, according to Pat Guinan, Extension climatologist with the University of Missouri Commercial Agriculture Program.

Weather report: Cloudy, cold conditions dominate on the Plains
In the West, showers are returning to the Pacific Coast, although inland accumulations of rain and snow are expected to be light. On the Plains, cloudy albeit cold weather dominates. In the Corn Belt, snow showers linger this morning in the northern Mississippi Valley, with local accumulations of several inches possible.
