Canada is prepared to take "extensive retaliatory measures" against the United States unless it complies with a WTO order to redesign its meat labels, Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz said on Tuesday.

"Our government will consider all options, including extensive retaliatory measures, should the U.S. not achieve compliance by May 23, 2013, as mandated by the WTO," Ritz said in a statement. He did not give details of what steps Canada might take. (Reporting by David Ljunggren; Editing by Sandra Maler)
