PQA Plus, TQA sessions scheduled
The Iowa Pork Industry Center (IPIC) and the Iowa State University (ISU) Extension have teamed up to provide training for pork producers interested in Pork Quality Assurance Plus (PQA Plus) and Transporter Quality Insurance (TQA) certification. Upcoming programs have been schedule for Feb. 23 in Elma, Iowa and March 29 in Ames, Iowa.

PQA Plus Advisor Recertification Session Offered
People who become certified as Pork Quality Assurance (PQA) Plus Advisors under the National Pork Board's PQA Plus program are required to recertify every three years. That means those certified during the initial training period in 2007 and early 2008 need to complete a recertification training and testing session now.

PQA Plus Certification Webinars Jan. 26
Two Pork Quality Assurance Plus certification webinars have been scheduled. The first, conducted in English, is set for Jan. 26 at 1 p.m. CST. The second, conducted in Spanish, is set for Jan. 26 at 3:15 p.m. CST.

42nd Annual South Dakota Pork Congress To Be Held In January
The South Dakota Pork Producers Council’s 42nd annual Pork Congress will be held at the Sioux Falls Ramkota Hotel and Exhibit Hall on Jan. 6-7. The two-day trade show will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Exhibitors will display the latest in technology, equipment, feeds and vet supplies.

Iowa Pork Industry Center To Offer PQA Plus Advisor Training Program
Veterinarians and others in Iowa’s pork industry have the opportunity to become Pork Quality Assurance Plus Advisors under the National Pork Board's PQA Plus program. The certification process requires attendance at a daylong training session and passing an exam at the conclusion of that session. The Iowa Pork Industry Center (IPIC) at Iowa State University (ISU) will hold one such training Dec. 14.
