Ralco Nutrition has announced the issuance of US Patent No 8,575,212, which relates to organically chelated mineral compositions and methods used to make Ralco’s exclusive technologies. The minerals affected by the method are versatile and proven to stimulate beneficial microbial activity for improved plant and animal health.
“This patent places Ralco in a position to positively impact generations of producers and customers,” said Brian Knochenmus, vice president and co-owner of Ralco. “The technology that this patent protects is impacting global food production.”
The methods covered by the patent produce a microbial catalyst that is highly soluble and completely available. The microbial catalyst promotes efficiency by stimulating microorganisms in various environments, like the rumen of ruminant livestock and soil for increased nutrient uptake. The technology was discovered when it was applied to greenhouse plants.
“It was a blessing when we discovered what this technology could do for plant growth and performance. It was not a result we were looking for. With that being said, it is extremely important that we utilize the technology to the best of our ability and improve the lives of a rapidly growing global population. The issuance of this patent goes a long way in helping us achieve that goal,” Knochenmus said.
