In a plea agreement, Kenneth Birker, of Benton County, Iowa, admitted he knowingly employed three illegal aliens at his dairy farm, according to an article in Vinton Today.
Birker was convicted of one count of engaging in a pattern or practice of knowingly employing illegal aliens, according to the article. He also entered a guilty plea on behalf of his business, Birker, Inc., to one count of harboring illegal aliens for commercial advantage or financial gain, the article said.
Sentencing will occur in U.S. District Court after presentence reports are prepared.
