With just a few weeks until the 2003 World Pork Expo arrives, June 5-7, organizers report a good showing from trade-show exhibitors. The National Pork Producers Council– the WPX sponsor– says 421 companies have registered for space. That includes 41 new exhibitors, which is on pace with last year's record turnout.

"Based on the impressive number of exhibitors, we couldn't ask for a stronger endorsement of the event and its activities," says John Wrigley, NPPC's director of resource development.

Scheduled for June 5-7, at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, the 15th World Pork Expo will host pork producers, allied businesses, general visitors and the media from around the world.

Wrigley points out, that more than 1,100 booths will be filled for the event with many companies reserving multiple spaces.

"We have 141 companies outside of the United States who will attend World Pork Expo," he notes. "These exhibitors span six continents and represent global pork production ideas, services and products.

Last year's addition of an official Web site, www.worldpork.org, has made taking part in World Pork Expo easier than ever through online registration, exhibitor forms and sponsorship opportunities. In 2002, nearly 40,000 patrons visited World Pork Expo, including more than 2,000 international guests from 27 countries.
