Do black hot dogs pass the taste test?

click image to zoomBlack Hot Dog According to Yahoo! News, Vegas Premium Hot Dogs in Tokyo, Japan, has seen its popularity soar thanks to an unlikely menu item: Black Terra Hot Dog.

Make no mistake – the restaurant’s distinctly-colored, all-pork hot dog is the color of black charcoal throughout. Even the bun maintains the dingy coloring.  

The nearly foot long oddity is made using edible bamboo charcoal powder, a popular food dye in the region.

As for how it tastes, one reviewer commented, “the first bite was kind of vomit-inducing because it was really much sweeter than I was expecting.”
