Get ready for the 17th annual World Pork Expo, scheduled for June 9-11, 2005, at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. As the largest pork-industry trade show and exhibition in the world, the expo draws thousands of pork producers, exhibitors and visitors from across the country and around the globe.

“With the addition of the new Marketing Information Center and the producer education seminars we have planned, there’s more reason than ever to attend the expo,” says Don Buhl, National Pork Producers Council president and pork producer from Tyler, Minn.

The WPX trade show will run from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday. The trade show is held in the Varied Industries Building and the Cattle Barn, featuring about 500 exhibitors.

This year’s WPX entertainment is set for Friday afternoon and evening, presented street dance-style on the Grand Concourse featuring both the hit country act, Highway 101, and headliner David Marks, an original member of the Beach Boys, along with America’s All-Star Beach Band.
