Mike Wehler is the newest inductee into the Pork Industry Hall of Fame. The Plain, Wis., pork producer has served as president of both the National Pork Producers Association and the National Pork Board.

Known as the "father" of the pork quality program, Wehler chaired NPPC’s first quality assurance committee. The resulting Pork Quality Assurance Program was the first of its kind. While serving on the Pork Board, he was involved in negotiating a new agreement between the pork industry and the U.S. Meat Export Federation in 1996.
