The Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group, the National Pork Board and state pork associations have develop a free series of risk-management Webinars for pork producers. These online, interactive presentations will provide direct access to industry professionals. Producers can choose from the Introductory or Advanced Tracks based on experience and educational needs. 

The Introductory Track runs from Monday, May 18 through Thursday, May 22. A different topic will be presented each day, and the sessions will run at two different times so that you can select the most convenient one for your schedule. Each session will take place at 12  to 12:30 p.m. Central Time (CT) plus a question-and-answer session; the second session will occur at 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (CT) plus a question-and-answer session.  Archives from the event will be available after 5 p.m. (CT).

  • Monday, May 19 -“Futures and Options: The Basics
  • Tuesday, May 20- “Introduction to Hedging”
  • Wednesday, May 21- “Developing a Marketing Plan”
  • Thursday, May 22- “Trading Tools and How to Get Started”

The Advanced Track runs from Tuesday, May 27 through Thursday, May 29.  Each day will present a new topic. All sessions will run from 2 to 2:45 p.m. (CT) a question-and-answer session. Archives from each day's events will be available after 5 p.m.  (CT).

Tuesday, May 27- “Roll of the Lender in Risk Management”
Wednesday, May 28- “Systematic Risk Management”
Thursday, May 29- “Advanced Hog Margin Mangagement”
