The Ohio pork industry will give consumers a real-world view of pork production through www.OhioPorkTour.com.
Created through a partnership between the Ohio Pork Producers Council and the Ohio Soybean Council, the Web site feature several short videos, highlighting a different pork operation in the state.. The videos will provide a tour of the facilities; address hot topics such as animal care, the environment and social issues affecting pork production operations; and introduce the producers themselves.
"Our goal is to address misperceptions about modern pork production," says Jennifer Keller, OPPC''s director of marketing. "Through the Ohio Pork Tour, we''re opening the doors and inviting people to see what''s going on at Ohio''s swine farms."
The site posts a video from a different farm each month, with the target of providing 12 videos total running by October. OhioPorkTour.com also answers frequently asked questions and provides links to other educational resources.
