According to an article by Advertising Age, Michael Vick, one-time National Football League superstar, is in talks with the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals to become a possible spokesperson. Sources say that Vick is looking to rehabilitate his image.
Vick is serving prison time for funding an illegal dog-fighting ring, and could be doing public-service ads for PETA upon his release scheduled for later this month. According to three people with knowledge of the matter, AdAge.com reports, the proposed endorsement is part of a comprehensive public relations scheme aimed at rehabilitating the quarterback's image and gaining him re-admission to the NFL, which has banned him from playing.
