Union employees of a Smithfield Foods plant in Denison, Iowa, have tentatively approved a new contract with the company, according to Reuters. Contract details have not yet been released.

The members of UFCW Local 440 had rejected the company's contract offer on Sunday, with more than 92 percent of employees rejecting the proposal. Union leadership also had authorized a strike on Sunday, but no strike date had been set. The dispute has not resulted in any interruption to operations.

The Denison plant is part of Smithfield's Farmland Foods unit.
