Meat packer Patrick Cudahy is adding 27,000 square feet to its Wisconsin-based operations as part of a $110 million, seven-year expansion. Patrick Cudahy makes bacon, sausage, lunch meat and other pork products. It is owned by Smithfield Foods.

Company officials say they will start construction of a $3.2 million addition to its distribution center within a few weeks and will have the project finished by the fall.

The building addition is one segment of a seven-year, $110 million expansion at the 116-year-old meat packer. With the addition, the company plant will cover almost 1.1 million square feet.
