New to this year's World Pork Expo, attendees will have the opportunity to receive on-site event reminders on their mobile devices throughout the duration of the event. The National Pork Producers Council has teamed up with Pork magazine to be the official mobile messaging sponsor of the 2010 World Pork Expo, held June 9-11 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa.

The "REMIND ME" service allows attendees to sign up for e-mail and text message alerts reminding them of key events and seminars going on throughout WPX. Participants can control which alerts they receive by selecting only the events that pique their interest. The messages will be delivered directly to participants’ mobile phones 15 minutes prior to the start of the event.

“Each year, we look for ways to provide more value to producers at Expo,” says John Wrigley, NPPC director of resource development and general manager of WPX. “We believe the 'Remind Me' alerts will help attendees make the most of their time at Expo and ensure they don’t miss a beat.”

Pork magazine is the underwriting sponsor of the MarketingInformationCenter located in the VariedIndustriesBuilding on the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Pork also has created an online resource center to provide up-to-date information about World Pork Expo; you also can sign up for the "REMIND ME" service there.
