Each year the World Pork Expo offers young swine showmen the opportunity to showcase their talents, knowledge and the industry’s best animals at the Junior National Swine Show. The show begins at Noon on Wednesday, June 9 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Swine Barn. With events throughout WPX, you will get a glimpse into the industry’s future generation.

Showmen ages 21 and under who are members of the Junior National Swine Association will show pigs in crossbred and purebred barrow and gilt classes. Purebreds will include Berkshire, Chester White, Poland China, Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace and Yorkshire. There also will be a showmanship competition to further display their talents related to their ability to present the animal at its best.

Participants will be united from across the nation through the Junior National Swine Show as it provides youth a variety of opportunities to learn more about the pork industry, gain leadership experience and show hogs in one of the largest and most respected swine shows in the nation.
