Russian officials have stopped pork products shipped from Indiana Packers Corp. from entering the country. This action comes after Russian officials say they found Salmonella in a pork shipment sent from the packer, according to USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The ban takes effect on Nov. 24, FSIS notes. However, USDA has not yet confirmed Russia's reported Salmonella finding.

"They (Russia) have only reported these findings," said an FSIS spokesperson. "We have no additional information."

Russian inspectors conducted inspections last month in the United States, including the Delphi-Ind. packer. A report associated with that visit is yet to be released, and Russia's most recent action against Indiana Packers is not related to the auditing trip, according to FSIS.
