(AP) A pork plant in Crete, Neb. won't be able to ship its products to Russia starting next month.

According to the Lincoln Journal Star, the Farmland plant's shipments end next Tuesday.

Farmland is a division of Smithfield Foods. A Smithfield representative referred questions to the Food Safety Inspection Service, part of the USDA.

An FSIS representative said salmonella was found in a lot of pork jowls exported to Russia by Farmland.

John Harrington is a livestock consultant. He told the Journal Star that Russian worries about quality problems with individual plants are likely more about politics than food.
