Russia has barred imports from another U.S. pork plant. This time it is JBS-Swift & Co.'s Louisville, Ky., pork plant, according to USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Effective April 30, the plant is ineligible to export to Russia. However, the agency said that certificates can be signed for pork from the plant through April 29, and product must be loaded on a ship by that date.

FSIS spokeswoman Amanda Eamich told Meatingplace that Russia indicated it identified listeria on pork fat. "We are awaiting additional information," she said, noting that listeria is not considered an adulterant on raw product.
