The 2010 World Pork Expo is just a few days away—June 9-11. There is still time to register for the recreational events taking place outside of the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Here’s a look at what you will find.
Cruisin’ with the Hogs
Rev up your engines and join the 10th Annual Cruisin’ with the Hogs motorcycle ride. Bikes will rally in two locations, Route 65 Harley Davidson in Indianola, Iowa, and Big Barn Harley Davidson in Des Moines, before they ride to the Iowa State Fairgrounds and make a grand entrance into WPX.
Registration begins at both locations at 4:30 p.m. Riders depart from the Route 65 location at 5:30 p.m. and from Big Barn at 5:45 p.m. The cost is $15 per driver and $10 per passenger and includes entrance to WPX and MusicFest, a ride patch, hog pin, dinner and coupons from supporting sponsors.
World Pork Open Clay Target Championship
Take your best shot at the World Pork Expo Clay Target Championship on Thursday, June 10, at the New Pioneer Gun Club in Waukee, Iowa. Five-person teams will take aim at 50 sporting clays during the three-round shoot out. The entry fee is $125 per person and includes eye and ear protection, four boxes of ammunition, food and drinks. Prizes will be awarded to each round’s top flights and men’s and women’s individual high scorers.
World Pork Expo Golf Outing
Hit the links during the World Pork Expo Golf Outing on Friday, June 11, at the Legacy Golf Club in Norwalk, Iowa. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and four-person teams will tee-off in a shot gun start at 9:00 a.m. This is a best shot tournament and prizes will be awarded to the top three teams. Gift certificates will also be given for longest drive, straightest drive and longest putt. A $5,000 cash prize will be awarded to anyone who makes a hole-in-one on any of the course’s par 3 holes. The registration fee is $125 per golfer and includes lunch.
