The 2009 International PRRS Symposium is scheduled for Dec. 4-5. The Symposium—Molecular, Immunological, Genetic and Epidemiological Approaches for PRRSV Control -- will be held in Chicago prior to the Conference of Research Workers in Animal Diseases. The event will be hosted by the PRRS Coordinated Agricultural Project, National Pork Board and the NC-229 Respiratory Diseases Committee.

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome is the most economically significant disease of swine in the U.S. This meeting brings together an international group of researchers, students and swine health specialists. Pork producers interested in PRRS virus research are invited to attend. A broad range of topics - from field studies to highly technical investigations - will be discussed.

The Symposium will be held at the Downtown Chicago Marriott,  There is no charge for attending the 2009 International PRRS Symposium, but registration is required. Register for the meeting and submit abstracts through the Symposium website   using the Registration link at the top of this page. Abstract submission will be open soon and will be open until Aug. 25.

The 2009 International PRRS Symposium Program has been submitted (but not yet approved) for 12 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB RACE approval for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
