The National Pork Board has added the popular web site YouTube to its public education efforts. YouTube, a Web-based video-sharing site, now carries three short videos on pork production. The videos are intended to answer consumers’ questions about animal care, feeding and transportation.

The one to two minute videos feature pork producers and industry experts answering common consumer questions on animal care issues. They include "Pig Farmers Take Action", which focuses on animal health and well-being; "Ride Along with a Pig", which explains producers’ care in transporting live animals and "Pigs Are Hungry, Too", which addresses pigs'' nutrition and proper care requirements.

"Sites like YouTube allow messages to spread around the world faster than you can blink," says Steve Weaver, vice president of NPB. "I''m extremely proud of the YouTube videos the pork checkoff has created to help us tell our story." The videos are available at www.youtube.com/PorkCheckoff
