Plan your Florida getaway now. The National Pork Board will host the 2009 Pork Management Conference May 6-9 at Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa, Ft. Myers, Fla. The conference will focus on the theme ‘Your Pork Industry Investment.’ A welcome reception will kick off the event Tuesday, May 5 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Sessions will run Wednesday morning through Friday Noon.

The conference will review topics including a regulatory and legislative update, emerging food trends, global trade and secrets of successful acquisitions. Breakout sessions will be available on managing employee benefit costs, production budgeting, hedging strategies as well as production targets among others. A golf outing is planned for Wednesday, May 6 beginning at 1:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required for the golf outing. The cost is $56.

Room rate is set at $159 per night plus $15 resort fee per night. The hotel registration deadline is April 4th. Attendees are encouraged to book rooms early.

Registration fee is $395 per person. After April 24th the fee is $435. Spouse registration is $150 which includes meals, reception and conference participation, or $50 which includes receptions only.
