The Pork Checkoff has launched Pork, Knife and Spoon — a blog authored by Shauna James Ahern, and her husband Chef Daniel Fitzgerald Ahern.

Shauna is author of the popular blog Gluten-Free Girl as well as the book Gluten-Free Girl: How I Found the Food That Loves Me Back...And How You Can Too.

Daniel has chef experience at a variety of restaurants from coast to coast. From Gramercy Tavern in New York, to Papillon in Denver, to his most recent stint as executive chef at Impromptu Wine Bar in Seattle. Daniel has always loved cooking with pork.

The blog features information on recipes, cookbooks and chefs and is averaging 225 page views daily, the Pork Checkoff said.

"Shauna and Danny are new parents, making them relatable to our target audience, and they are as passionate about pork as we are," said Cathy Lee Fredrickson, online editorial manager for the National Pork Board.
