Hormel is teaming up it's new herb-crusted pork filet with Idaho potatoes and Ski-Doo snowmobiles. Yes, that's right — snowmobiles.
The three are all part of a new National Pork Board promotion targeted for Utah and Boise, Idaho.
NPB is partnering with Albertsons, the Colorado Pork Producers, the Idaho Potato Commission and Hormel Foods on the two-week promotion, which will run from mid- to late January. Consumers who purchase Hormel's new product will receive a free 5-pound bag of Idaho potatoes as well as a chance to win a Ski-Doo snowmobile-- a very valuable item in those snowy climates.
"This will be huge, and it's opening the doors to more pork and potato promotion opportunities with some of the largest supermarket chains in the West," says Rick O'Fallon, NPB's western division retail marketing manager.
