South Korea receives 12 million doses of FMD vaccine
Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health announced that it has shipped 12 million doses of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) vaccine to South Korea to assist in the country’s efforts to halt the ongoing FMD outbreak. Although the country is gaining ground on controlling the FMD epidemic, the vaccines will be used to further quash the disease from spreading. FULL STORY »
Montana senator objects to South Korean trade deal
Pork producers’ long-awaited final approval of the South Korea free-trade agreement may have hit another snag. Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), U.S. Senate Finance Committee Chairman, is siding with cattle ranchers from his home state in opposition to the South Korean Free Trade agreement, according to the Washington Post.
