A group of Iowa pork producers are coming to the aid of other Iowa producers who were hit hard by the June floods. The Plymouth County Pork Producers Association will donate the entire day’s proceeds from their Fair stand on Friday, July 25, to help flooded pork producers in southeast Iowa. The Plymouth County Fair will be held July 23 through July 27th in LeMars where the Plymouth County group operates its Pork concession stand.
They hope to raise several thousand dollars from sales of their famous Chops in a Glove, pork loin sandwiches, brat burgers and other items, said Bill Tentinger, a member of the Plymouth County Pork Producers. “We want to show we care and do what we can to help our fellow producers out.”
Other county pork producer organizations and ag-related business also are investigating ways to contribute to the flood relief effort.
