The tight economic times are shifting meat demand. Earlier, Hormel officials reported expanding shift lines for its Spam production. Now, Oscar Mayer announced that the company is looking to add 30 employees at its Madison, Wis., plant to work on an expanded hog dog production line.

The jobs will pay $12.05 per hour with benefits (medical, dental and a thrift-plan option), with pay increases every six months up to $14.05 per hour. The Madison plant currently employs nearly 1,600 people.

Company cites its ability to add staff to strong performances by new products such as its reformulated Oscar Mayer Premium Beef Franks, Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh and Oscar Mayer Deli Creations. The company had already expanded its hot dog line to produce its new beef franks.
