Novus International officials announce that the company has completed the acquisition of the Albion Laboratories' Animal Nutrition Division. Albion Laboratories is based in Clearfield, Utah. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Products from the acquisition, including the Macc chelated trace-mineral product line, will align with Novus’ Mintrex and Glytrex chelated trace-mineral products. It also will expand Novus's mineral technology. This acquisition will allow Novus to offer a broader range of products to meet the needs of customers in different parts of the world to support their livestock operations.
Since its establishment in 1956, Albion has been an innovator in mineral chelate nutrition. Albion manufactures highly bioavailable, research-based, nutritional chelated trace-mineral forms.
Geographically, Albion is mostly present in the animal organic trace-mineral industry in the United States, Europe, Canada, the Middle East and Japan. This new combined geographic and market presence will provide Novus the opportunity to offer new customers a wider range of health and nutritional products, programs and solutions.
“We are very excited to support our customers by expanding and incorporating these high quality products into our portfolio,” explained Giovanni Gasperoni, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Novus International. “Specifically, the Albion product offering will increase the breath and reach of our Mintrex and Glytrex chelated trace-mineral technologies.”
Novus's current products include amino acids, chelated-trace minerals, feed preservatives, and other nutrition and health products for the animal agriculture, companion animal, human and industrial markets. Key focus areas include helping customers increase the supply of animal protein to meet global demands, sustainable agriculture practices, use of local byproducts, food safety, animal welfare, and animal health and nutrition.
