The pork industry's annual business meeting– National Pork Industry Forum will take place on Feb. 27 to March 2 in Denver, Colo. The meeting is open to all U.S. pork producers and pork importers.

However, this year's meeting will be different than in the past.

As always, the National Pork Board and National Pork Producers Council will hold two entirely separate meetings. Since the pork checkoff settlement agreement between pork-industry segments and USDA to divide affiliations between NPB and NPPC, the two separate delegate bodies will tackle different topics and industry issues than in the past. NPPC is a policy and legislative body for the industry, while NPB focuses on industry educational, research and promotional programs.

For NPB's part, Pork Forum will focus on the theme: "The New Pork Checkoff...Fast, Fresh and Focused on You."

New to Pork Forum this year are the "Checkoff Producer Input Sessions" scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Two concurrent sessions from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. will allow producer input on program priorities, new ideas and an opportunity to interact with speakers on strategic issues.
