MidWest Plan Service is offering a new CD-ROM for producers – Farmstead Planning Handbook: Guidelines for Planning and Expanding Agricultural Facilities and Operations.

The handbook provides guidelines from concept to construction of farm office, shop and storage areas. It covers location, planning, building and expanding on agricultural sites or acreages.

The information also addresses related issues such as odor, dust control and safety. More than 100 drawings, photographs, diagrams and tables are used to illustrate the descriptions.

Contributing authors include: Don Jones, professor of agricultural and biological engineering at Purdue University; Brian Holmes, professor of biological systems engineering at the University of Wisconsin; and Ted Funk, professor of agricultural and biological engineering at the University of Illinois.
