KWQC-TV reports Triumph Foods plans to build its pork-processing plant following a freeze due to economic conditions.

Triumph Foods purchased 116 acres for the plant near East Moline, Iowa but delayed building plans with the economic downfall. Showing signs of an improving economic situation and increasing demand for pork the company has started to put together financing.

The plant will run 24 hours a day creating up to 3,000 new jobs. The city welcomes the plant as in brings in jobs and property and utility taxes. The company is asking the U.S. Agriculture Department to guarantee a loan totaling $150 million, if approved building will commence.

Triumph representatives said the plant will be state-of-the-art, meeting all Environmental Protection Agency guidelines.
