With larger anticipated fall-quarter hog numbers just around the corner, U.S. hog prices have tailed-off steadily since reaching a record-high of $79.33 per cwt in early August according to the USDA's Livestock, Dairy and Poultry report. At the same time, cash prices of corn in Iowa, the largest hog producing State in the country, have traded in the high $6 to low $7 per bushel range since mid-July. ...
