   Boxed beef cutout values steady to weak on light demand and 
offerings. Select and Choice rib cuts steady to firm while chuck 
round and loin items steady to weak. Beef trimmings generally steady 
on a light test.

  Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.04 at 182.35; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses 
DN 0.33 at 180.20; based on 96.70 loads of Choice cuts, 28.68 
loads of Select cuts, 3.88 loads of Trimmings, and 22.78
loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE
    Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses dn 0.02 at 174.04; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses dn 0.20 at 170.18
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 137,556 head of cattle.

NATIONAL 5 DAY-ROLLING CUTTER COW CUTOUT 
   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 167.34
UP 0.06.

BY-PRODUCT DROP VALUE
   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 
13.80, DN 0.01.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  
   Sales reported on 44.50 loads of pork cuts and 2.0 loads of 
trim/process pork.
    Compared to Wednesday's Close:  Fresh 1/4" trimmed loins steady
to 3.00 higher; butts generally steady; sknd hams 23-27 lbs steady to 
2.00 lower, other weights not tested; sdls bellies along with lean 
trimmings not established. Trading slow, with very light demand and light 
to moderate offerings.

   *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 
0.65" -0.80" back fat at last rib.* **81.78 DN 0.57.**  Loins bone 
in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-LGT 113.00-115.00.
