NATIONAL BOXED BEEF CUTOUT
  
Boxed beef cutout values steady to firm on moderate to fairly good 
demand and moderate offerings. Select and Choice rib, chuck and loin 
cuts steady to firm while round items weak.  Beef trimmings higher on 
moderate demand and light to moderate offerings.  

  Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.11 at 194.28; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses 
UP 0.87 at 173.84; based on 92.02 loads of Choice cuts, 82.71 
loads of Select cuts, 13.70 loads of Trimmings, and 56.92
loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE
    Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.68 at 184.68; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses UP 1.07
at 164.39.
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 164,423 head of cattle.

NATIONAL 5 DAY-ROLLING CUTTER COW CUTOUT 

   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 160.20
DN 0.44.

BY-PRODUCT DROP VALUE
   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 
12.96, UP 0.04.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  
   Sales reported on 123.75 loads of pork cuts and 23.0 loads of 
trim/process pork.
    Compared to Monday's Close:     Fresh 1/4" trimmed loins 1.00 to
2.00 higher; butts steady; sknd hams 20-23 lbs 4.00 higher, all other 
weights not tested; sdls bellies 14-16 lbs not established; lean trimmings 
mostly 1.00 lower.  Trading moderate, with light to moderate demand and 
offerings.

   *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 
0.65" -0.80" back fat at last rib.* **81.27 DN 0.36.**  Loins bone 
in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-LGT 103.00-106.00; Hams bone in trimmed, 
20-23 lbs trim spec 1  79.00.
