Illinois Grain Prices in Country Elevators
This is Tuesday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the USDA and
the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Tuesday afternoon, with soybeans
higher and corn and wheat values lower. Fund selling at the Board of Trade
weighed on corn and wheat futures, though weekly export inspection figures were
above trade expectations. Weekly export inspections for corn totaled 34.7
million bushels, with wheat at 22.15 million bushels. Soybeans were given a
boost when private exporters announced the sale of 250,000 tonnes of US soybeans
to China.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids
13 to 15 cents lower at 6.09-6.18. Soybean bids were mostly 3 to 5 cents higher
at 12.41-12.50.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 11 to 12
cents lower at 6.24-6.38. Soybean bids were 3 to 5 cents higher at 12.45-12.64.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 12 to 13 cents lower
at 6.31-6.52. Soybean bids were 2 to 4 cents higher at 12.57-12.79. Wheat bids
were mostly 11 cents lower at 6.20-6.43.
