Special Bred Cow Sale
Receipts: 492 Last Week: 187 Year Ago: 616
Compared to last week, slaughter steers and heifers sold steady.
Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls sold 3.00 to 4.00 higher. There
was a special bred cow sale held today with the regular sale.
Trade was active with good demand. There was an extremely large crowd
on hand with standing room only. Slaughter steers and heifers
accounted for 14 percent of the run; slaughter cows 21 percent;
bred cows and cow/calf pairs 35 percent; slaughter bulls 3 percent;
and feeder cattle 27 percent. In the feeder cattle supply, feeder
steers accounted for 26 percent of the run; feeder heifers 34
percent; feeder bulls 30 percent. Feeder cattle over 600 lbs 41
percent.
