   National Slaughter Cattle Summary - Week Ending Jun 14, 2013

   Compared to last week:  Slaughter cattle trading 2.00 lower in a light 
test.  Dressed sales in Nebraska sold  2.00 to 3.00 lower on a limited 
numbers.  Boxed beef prices Friday noon averaged 191.85 down .62 from last
Friday.  The Choice/Select spread is at 16.60.  Slaughter cattle on a 
national basis for negotiated cash trades through Friday noon totaled 
about 21,000 head.  Last week's total head count was 73,183.

Midwest Direct Markets: 
Live Basis: Steers and Heifers 
   35-80 Percent Choice, 1200-1400 lbs:  121.00
   Dressed Basis:  Steers and Heifers:   195.00

South Plains Direct Markets: 
Live Basis: Steers and Heifers 
   35-65 percent Choice, 1100-1400 lbs:  120.00  

Slaughter Cows and Bulls (Average Yielding Prices):
   Slaughter cows and bulls sold unevenly steady.  
   USDA's Cutter cow carcass cut-out value Friday morning was 157.49
up .94 from last Friday.
