National Slaughter Cattle Summary - Week Ending February 15, 2013
Compared to last week: Slaughter cattle sold 2.00 lower on a live
basis. Dressed sales in Nebraska traded 2.00 lower. Packer demand light.
Boxed beef prices Friday noon averaged 181.77 down .64 from last Friday.
The Choice/Select spread is at 2.11. Slaughter cattle on a national basis
for negotiated cash trades through Friday noon totaled about 36,000 head.
Last week's total head count was 88,930.

Live Basis: Steers and Heifers
35-80 Percent Choice, 1200-1400 lbs: 123.00
Dressed Basis: Steers and Heifers: 196.00
South Plains Direct Markets:
Live Basis: Steers and Heifers
35-65 percent Choice, 1100-1400 lbs: 123.00
Slaughter Cows and Bulls (Average Yielding Prices):
Slaughter cows 2.00-4.00 lower. Slaughter Bulls steady to 2.00 lower.
USDA's Cutter cow carcass cut-out value Friday morning was 167.49
up 1.53 from last Friday.
