Today's Estimated Sales Volume: 8,000
On Wednesday negotiated cash trade and demand was light in Nebraska and Iowa.
Few sales were reported per Mandatory Price Reporting at 198.00 and from 124.00-
125.50 in Nebraska. In the Southern Plains and Colorado trade was mostly
inactive on light demand. Wednesday afternoon boxed beef cutout values were weak
to lower on light demand and light to moderate offerings. Choice was down .77 at
193.41 with Select down .62 to close at 193.03 on 195 loads. The hide and offal
value from a typical slaughter steer for today was estimated at 14.26 per cwt
live, up 0.03 when compared to Tuesday's value. The estimated cattle slaughter
for Wednesday was reported at 119,000. April CME live cattle contracts were up
.75 to close at 125.97.

on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and
more frequently during active trading periods.
