Hay Prices By U.S. & State: Prices Inch Higher Nationally & In Most States

Hay prices increase nationally by two dollars per ton from September and seven dollars higher than the previous October. Hay prices rebound following three months of lower prices and unchanged prices in September. Hay prices remain three dollars per ton lower than the high for the year and 52 dollars under the 27-month high. Hay prices are closer to the low for the year of $107 per ton.
The biggest improvement was seen in California, up $10 per ton to $127. The highest prices was in New Mexico where a ton sells for $162. The biggest drop was four dollars in both Illinois and Washington. Hay receives the lowest price in North Dakota where it sells for $54 per ton.
