The National Pork Board and Kroger have announced a national promotional campaign around Oktoberfest. Throughout October, Kroger shoppers will save $2 when they purchase any 16-ounce or larger package of fresh bratwurst or smoked or cooked sausage, including Kroger's private-label products.
As part of the promotion, Anheuser-Busch will work with NPB to spread the word via point-of-sale materials tied to Beck's beer in-store displays in all 2,400 Kroger stores nationwide. No beer purchase is required.
The Oktoberfest promotion builds on the success of the Memorial Day and Labor Day Budweiser beer/pork rib promotions with Kroger, said Patrick Fleming, retail marketing manager, south central division for NPB. "Rib sales soared 9.3 percent at Kroger stores during the Labor Day promotion, compared to the same period the previous year," Fleming noted.
