Three separate pork production facilities in Fayette County, Iowa, were vandalized Sunday night and early Monday morning, The WCF Courier newspaper reports. The result was thousands of dollars of damage.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the facilities. He reports that it appears someone broke into and vandalized the buildings, releasing hogs and causing damage with a shotgun and equipment found in the buildings. Due to the vandalism, several hogs were left roaming the premises Monday morning.

Damage was done to buildings in West Union, Iowa at 24430 130th St., 21714 O Ave., and 14740 200th St. Fayette County Sheriff Marty Fisher asks that anyone who might have information on this situation to call his office at (563) 422-6067.
