Meatingplace reports that Hormel Foods plans a $1 million, 3,600-square-foot addition to its pork processing plant in Austin, Minn.

The facility, which processes products including Hormel pepperoni, Hormel Always Tender pork and Spam, comprises more than 1 million square feet.  The addition is expected to be completed in January 2010.
