The History Channel's Modern Marvel program is wrapping up production on a program that will feature pigs and pork production. The program, scheduled to air Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. CST and Nov. 28 at 11 p.m. CST, focuses on all aspects of the pig-from those first brought to North America to the modern medical Spamalot.

This program has been in production since mid-summer. The National Pork Board has worked closely with the History Channel on the program, having helped arrange interviews on many of the topics covered, opened its video library for full use and served as information resources. In fact, the show features numerous excerpts from their interview with Jim Meimann who served insightfully as the industry's spokesperson on history, mission and production.

The History Channel also conducted several of its own interviews for the program. The objective was to cover the pig and pork production from an unbiased perspective. "We have previewed an early version and are eagerly awaiting the final program," according to NPB officials.
