Plans are set for the 2008 AgExecutive Forum of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. The event will provide attendees with strategic insights to help guide company planning.
Scheduled for Oct. 9, 2008 at the Renaissance St. Louis Grand & Suites Hotel in St. Louis. The forum is geared to senior-level decision makers at farm equipment manufacturing and supplier companies. An evening welcome reception will be held Oct. 8.
USDA Secretary Ed Schafer will address the gathering. Schafer has extensive private sector experience as an entrepreneur and corporate leader.
Dr. Jay Lehr will provide a global perspective of agriculture, including the impact of evolving energy sources, trade barriers, bilateral trade agreements and biotechnology.
J.B. Penn, former USDA undersecretary for farm and foreign agricultural services will address the domestic outlook for the agriculture industry, with a focus on the 2008 Farm Bill.
Two sessions will specifically address what’s ahead for renewable energy resources. In addition, a panel discussion will explore future commodity trends, especially with the growing demand for biofuels. Participating will be the American Soybean Association, National Corn Growers Association and U.S. Wheat Associates.
