The National Center for Foreign Animal Disease Defense — or the FAZD Center — has launched a web portal in response to the outbreak of the Type A H1N1 influenza.

The portal focuses on official information about the current outbreak both in the United States and around the world. The portal links to and streams in information from the Centers for Disease Control, the USDA, the World Health Organization, the Pan American Health Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the World Organization for Animal Health.

companion Web site, initiated by the Integrative Center for Homeland Security at Texas A&M University, is providing ongoing updates of the public information and serves as one advisory source to the general population.  The two Web sites are complimentary and are hyperlinked for interactive access.

In addition, the FAZD Center site has posted an online guide to the best recent and relevant scientific articles related to the current outbreak
