Farms.com, an information and marketing company to the North American agriculture and food industry, has acquired all of the shares of PigChamp, the leading swine industry software company.

PigChamp has over 5,000 producers using the company's’ knowledge software to manage the information on over 1.5 million sows. The software products were developed at the University of Minnesota.

The Farms.com swine business offers marketing services, through its subsidiary, M&F Trading, which include cash trading of feeder pigs, early weans, cull animals and market hogs. The company operated across North America with offices located in Ames, Iowa and London, Ontario, Canada.

Farms.com believes the acquisition of PigChamp will complement their existing services and develop additional applications that add value throughout the pork production supply chain.
