Live from WPX 2012: Carney talks trade

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Growth in export markets has been driving pork producer profitability in the past year, according to Sam Carney of the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC). As a past president of NPPC, Carney has worked on several trade issues, including the most recently passed free-trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama.

He says pork producers now are focused on the Trans Pacific Partnership as an opportunity to continue growing trade opportunities for U.S. pork.
