There’s always something for everyone at World Pork Expo, and this year’s event is no different. Whether you’re a child, or a child at heart, check out some of these festivities that await you on June 9-11 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.

WORLD PORK EXPO FARM TOY SHOW AND SALE: Located in the Cattle Barn on Wednesday and Thursday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., and on Friday: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Featuring the Seventh Edition World Pork Expo Commemorative Toy Tractor, an Oliver 995 Lugmatic with Utility Loader. This highly detailed 1/16 scale tractor will have authentic paint and decals, the loader will raise and lower, and hydraulic lines will be attached. The model will have the World Pork Expo logo on the side of the bucket.

This tractor will be retired at the end of 2010 and a new model will be designed for 2011. Collectors who purchase serial-numbered tractors will have the first option to purchase the same serial number in the next model.

Owners of the earlier World Pork Expo models can order the 2010 model in the same number to build your collection. Please specify the number you desire when ordering.

PIG RACES: Located in the Northeast corner of the Cattle Barn on Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The excitement and fun of live racing can be found at Expo. Racing pigs will hoof around a sawdust track at blazing speeds. Fun for the entire family as you participate in the pageantry of the Pig Races.

MUSICFEST: Located on theGrand Concoursein front of the Grandstand on Thursday: 3:30  – 8 p.m.

MusicFest is the social highlight of World Pork Expo and will feature three Pig Pickin’ hog roast stations and music from the 1970s performed by The Classic Rock All Stars, Bryan White’s down-home sounds of the country genre and oldies cover band Tony Valdez and the Retro Rockets.
